In my opinion Signal is the best secure communication solution that is readily accessible. This is not to say it is perfect, nothing is, but if you want privacy respecting, secure communication, than Signal is probably your best option. The messages you send are encrypted, the Signal organisation cannot decrypt your messages and they also store virtually no data on users, they cannot tell who you are communicating with.
