Java Certification

I have mixed views on the Java Certification, however it is well known and well recognised. Here are some useful resources if you want to know more about it and possibly prepare to sit the exam.

The above links are focused on Java SE and specifically Java 11, that is because this is the current, latest Java version on the exam, however as of November 2019 the Java 8 exams are still available.

Java 8 OCA

Just for reference purposes this is an outline of what I did to pass the Java SE 8 Programmer I exam.

• Read Java OCA 8 Programmer I Study Guide by Scott Selikoff and Jeanne Boyarsky and do all of the revision questions in the book
• Watch all the videos from Oracle Java Certification (Pass the Associate 1Z0-808 Exam) | Udemy
• Do the practice exams in Java Certification : OCA (1Z0-808) Exam Simulation [2019] | Udemy
• Finally I went back to the Java OCA 8 Programmer I Study Guide and used the online practice questions and worked through these.

There are other resources, for example people speak highly of the Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer (OCAJP 8) | Whizlabs practice tests and also Oracle Certified OCA Java 8 1Z0-808 Mock Exams Practice Tests/Questions, however I did not use these. People have said that the Enthuware exams are harder than the real thing, so they are a good indicator.
